Conrail has immediate openings for the position of

Trainperson in the North Jersey area.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs duties associated with the movement of rail cars:

operates track switches, couple cars and uncouples cars,

works on freight trains in yard operations and on the road.

Qualifications:

§ Able to work outdoors in all types of weather.

§ Position works varying shifts, weekends and holidays.

§ Able to lift, push, pull, and carry varying weights

§ Able to walk, sit, stand, bend, stoop and climb.

§ Distinguish colors and communicate using a radio

§ Speak, read and write English.

§ Have a valid driver’s license.

§ Union membership is required

§ Position is subject to random alcohol and drug testing

pursuant to Federal Railroad Administration Guidelines.
